Galleri Dagfinn Bakke established in 1982 is displaying hundreds of artwork in an exhibition, which is continuously changing. Motives from the coast and humor characterizes the art shown. The emphasis of the exhibition is Dagfinn Bakke’s watercolor paintings and lithographs. The gallery is situated in the centre of Svolvær and is easy to find.
Dagfinn Bakke (born in 1933 - 2019) was an artist, illustrator and graphic artist. He lived and worked in Lofoten. Dagfinn Bakke has exhibited in several countries, and his work is exhibited in many public art galleries, including the National Gallery of Norway. Several public buildings have his adornments in addition to the thow Hurtigruten (Norwegian Coastal Steamer) "Finnmarken" and "Nordnorge". The nature of northern Norway where Dagfinn Bakke grew up has been the main inspiration for his art.
You can also do your framing in the gallery, which is located only 100 meters from the Hurtigruten docks in Svolvær and has a close relationship with travel guides aboard there.
